N/A Performance Bio HE 32 TG is recommended for use where leakage or spillage may present a risk of harm to the environment or in environmentally sensitive areas such as waterways, agriculture, forestry, and mining and construction industries. It can also be used in metalworking applications where excellent lubricity is necessary such as in cutting and deformation processes especially for steel and non ferrous materials. Performance Bio HE 32 TG is miscible with conventional mineral oilbased fluids but in order to maximise the performance benefits of these products it is recommended to minimise residues of other lubricants in the lubrication system through draining or flushing. Mobile/Exterior Hydraulic Applications - Hydraulic and fluid power transmission systems in exposed environments can be subject to wide variations in temperature. The naturally high, shear stable viscosity index (VI) of Shell Panolin S2 Hydraulic DU EAL 46 helps deliver responsive performance from cold start to full load, heavy duty operation.

General Industrial Control Equipment and Hydraulic Systems - The excellent anti-wear properties and high viscosity index (VI) of Shell Panolin S2 Hydraulic DU EAL 46, mean that it can often be used where ISO 11158 (HM/HV) and DIN 51524 Part 2 or Part 3 (HLP/HVLP) mineral oil hydraulic fluids are specified. However, bulk fluid operating temperatures should not be allowed to exceed 90 C.

Environmentally Sensitive Area - Shell Panolin S2 Hydraulic DU EAL 46 is an 'environmentally accpetable' hydraulic fluid (ISO 15380 HEES), with 'reduced harm for water and soil during use' (European Union ecolabel). When compared to conventional mineral oil hydraulic fluids, it will have a reduced environmental impact in the event of a leak or accidental spillage, and meets the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) requirements for use in marine applications.

Industrial Operation Subject to Fire Hazards - Shell Panolin S2 Hydraulic DU EAL 46 is classified as an HFDU type fire-resistant hydraulic fluid for use in industrial equipment operating in areas subject to fire hazards, such as in steel mills, surface mines, and foundries. It has a high ignition temperature and heat release.

N/A
  • Extremely high viscosity index (VI) & excellent thermal stability ensures lubrication and protection over a wide temperature range.
  • Rapidly biodegradable ensures accidental leaks or spills have a reduced impact on the environment.
  • Excellent lubricity, anti-corrosion and anti-wear characteristics prolongs machine life and reduces maintenance costs.
  • Naturally good shear stability and a longer service life compared with other vegetable oil based hydraulic fluids.

Good Wear Protection: Advanced ashless (zinc-free) anti-wear additives provide protection over a wide range of conditions - proven protection in tough industry standard tests such as the Eaton Vickers 35VQ25 vane pump and Komatsu HPV35+35 high pressure piston pump. The excellent anti-wear properties and high viscosity index (VI) mean that it can often be used where ISO 11158 (HM/HV) and DIN 51524 Part 2 or Part 3 (HLP/HVLP) mineral oil hydraulic fluids are specified. However, bulk fluid operating temperatures should not be allowed to exceed 90 C.

Maintain System Efficiency: Excellent viscosity/temperature characteristics can minimize the changes fo viscoisty with variation in operation temperature, giving true "multigrade" characteristics. Outstanding cleanliness and filterability, coupled with excellent water separation, air release and antifoam characteristics, all help contribute to maintianing or enhancing the efficiency of hydraulic systems.

Very High Renewable Content: A mean biobased content of 82% (ASTM D 6866).

Lower Environmental Impact: Recommended for use in environmentally sensitive areas: An "environmentally acceptable lubricant" as defined by the USA EPA 2013 Vessel General Permit and offers reduced impact of leak or accidental spillage into the environment when used in marine environments compared to conventional mineral oils. Readily biodegradable - biodegraded by over 60% after 28 days in the OECD 301 B carbon dioxide evolution test. Low Ecotoxicity - Classified as "not harmful" to bacteria, algae, freshwater and marine invertebrates, and fish when tested as water-accomodated fractions (WAFs) according to OECD and EPA test guidelines.

Fluid Compatibility - Shell Panolin Fluids are miscible with mineral oils. However, in order to ensure that the environmental properties and performance of Shell Panolin Fluids are maintained, the system shoud be drained and flushed thoroughly when changing fluids.

Seal & Paint Compatibility - Compatible with fluoroelastomers (FPM/FKM) such as Viton. Other seal materials and system components such as paints may be adversely affected and advice should be sought from the respective manufacturers.
