Twin Specialties' line of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) are colorless, non-flammable and non-toxic to humans and animals. It is recommended for use in most 2010 and later on- road and off-road diesel trucks, cars and stationary diesel engines requiring 32.5% DEF. In 2010, the EPA introduced stringent regulations to that required diesel engine vehicles to significantly reduce the level of harmful NOx emissions and particulate matter. Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) chemically reduces NOx emissions by converting them to harmless nitrogen and water by way of injection directly into the engine exhaust stream before the SCR catalyst.

Storage and Handling N/A The shelf life of DEF is directly related to the temperature at which it is stored. Storage temperature between 12º and 86º F are recommended to maintain optimal shelf life of up to two years. If BlueDEF freezes, its efficacy will not be effected upon thawing. To maintain the purity of DEF and not harm the SCR Catalyst System care must be taken regarding the material of construction for all items that come in contact with the DEF solution. Included from the ISO-22241-1 standards are the recommended and not recommended materials for contact with DEF. N/A The shelf life of DEF is directly related to the temperature at which it is stored.
